Tami Pierce has 30-plus years of experience in Criminal Justice. She has served as a police officer, investigator, and patrol sergeant before attending law school. She has served on both sides as a criminal defense attorney, as well as a prosecutor, allowing her to have the perfect blended experience to equally uphold the law. She has dedicated her life to public service.

Crime victims are unwilling participants in the criminal justice system. Harris County has seen exponential increases in violent crime, including sexually related crime and human trafficking.  Historically, there has been a trend to grant low bonds for these violent offenses. Despite SB9 now being law, there is still discretion for judges to grant low bonds, allowing Harris County to have some of the most dangerous zip codes in the nation. 

The citizens of Harris County deserve better. Residents need judges who protect victims’ rights, restore the rule of law, and keep violent criminals from being released on low or no bonds.  Judge Tami Pierce is fierce on these issues.

Judge Pierce is committed to fairly and consistently administering the law. Since taking the bench in late 2025, she has not only moved cases through the system but has also consistently cut the backlog left by her democratic predecessor. She is committed to keeping the wheels of justice turning rather than using stall tactics.

Tami was the first in her family to go to college and has raised her family to have the same value for a solid education. She has been happily married for 25 years and raised two sons with her wife.
